WEIDMANN Diagnostic Solutions expertise traces back to 1972.  Dr. Fredi Jakob, a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at California State University, Sacramento, was approached by a California electric utility to develop an analytical method for the early detection of transformer faults.  The research project led to the development of dissolved gas analysis (DGA) as a method for the detection of incipient faults in oil filled transformers. These developments created a need for an independent commercial laboratory, which was subsequently established in 1978.

Today, WEIDMANN Diagnostic Solutions operates all fourteen laboratories on the high quality principles established by Dr. Jakob.  WEIDMANN Diagnostic Solutions is continuously expanding its team of chemists, engineers, technicians, support staff and administration to meet the needs of our growing number of clients.

Our unique diagnostics and engineering expertise permits us to offer Package Solutions for Oil Circuit Breakers, On Load Tap Changers and Transformers allowing Asset Managers to identify serious problems, without taking their equipment out of service, and well before an equipment failure occurs.
